Mountains, Monsoons, and Mosquitoes
Did you know that my wedding packages include an engagement session? It's a perfect time for us to get to know each other, while providing you with images that can be used for save-the-dates, invitations, and wedding websites. For their engagement session, Emma Jo and David wanted to shoot on the property where they've resided before their move closer to downtown.
The eastern Sangre de Cristo mountains, the western sandstone buttes, and scattered monsoon skies provided stunning backdrop, but it was definitely not a walk in the park. We dodged cacti, scrambled up hills, and fought off the ravenous mosquitoes (I seriously haven't seen that many since I left Florida in 2013!) There was a moment when Emma Jo said, "Well, if she still wants to be our photographer after this, we're good!"
Of course, I was heading up Wheeler Peak the next day, so this was really just par for the course and the final images were worth the effort (and the bug bites). I'm really looking forward to Emma Jo and David's May wedding at Delancey Street.
