All the fall colors, from Aspen Vista to Fourth of July Canyon
Like all photographers in Santa Fe, I have been really busy this season. Autumn is the most popular time for weddings and family photography for good reason. Balloon Fiesta, fall foliage, sweater weather, and equinoctial light all arrive to provide stunning backdrops. Here are some highlights from the 2023 season.
The Ovalles Family at Aspen Vista
The aspens were a little late to turn this year, so there was still a lot of green when Susan, Miguel, and Roman met me at Aspen Vista on October 1. Nevertheless, we found pockets of gold and enjoyed some moments with doggies and grandparents in the early days of the turn of season. Aspen Vista is beautiful year-round.
Courtney and Jordan's Balloon Fiesta Engagement
I was thrilled that Courtney and Jordan decided to meet me at the 2023 International Balloon Fiesta for a sunrise engagement session. Each morning during the second week of October, hundreds of balloons ascend into the skies over Albuquerque, creating one of the most spectacularly unique backdrops for photographs. It's also an incredibly memorable experience that I try to recreate with new families and couples each year.
Jackie + Ellie's First Look at Big Tesuque
Married on October 7, Jackie and Ellie decided to do their first look a few days prior to their wedding in the glory of the changing aspens. We found pockets of gold around the Big Tesuque Campground. Having already seen each other's digs, they were able to savor their entire wedding day together. I'll be sharing their wedding day images soon!

The Montano Family at Fourth of July Canyon
For years, I've been wanting to photograph a family at this unique New Mexico location hidden in the Manzano mountains. We timed it right, as the maples in Fourth of July Canyon were ablaze in tones of red, orange, and pink. Jen's jewel-toned dress contrasted beautifully with the rosy colors of the foliage.
