Adobe, monsoons, and all the romance for this backyard microwedding
Adobe backdrops. Fresh tamales. Sweeping desertscapes. Kristina and Paul wanted a wedding day that captured the essence of Santa Fe, so we designed an afternoon that would allow for a simple backyard ceremony, a meal for 12 from Posa's, and a short drive to Nambe for golden hour. The day started at the home of Paul's mother, where vine walls and southwestern accents set the backdrop for the exchange of vows. Because Paul's father passed two years ago, he had asked his father's best friend to officiate. Guests included close family and a few dearest friends. After the cake cutting, we drove north for sunset portraits in Nambe. The monsoon skies arrived right on cue, and as we were about to conclude the day, a rainbow appeared over the Sangre de Cristos. This is an example of how a simple wedding or elopement, in coordination with your photographer, can lead to some dramatic landscape images in addition to traditional wedding captures. Congratulations, Kristina and Paul!
